Eney launches on Mac and iPhone, asking before it acts by default

MacPawAgents and applications

MacPaw has launched Eney, an assistant that combines application, file and system context to prepare everyday tasks. On Mac, it can offer meeting notes without a bot joining the call, draft a recap, find documents or suggest a fix when disk space runs low. Eney Wand also lets users select an area of the screen to translate it, extract text or prepare an action.

Feature release / rollout

MacPaw has launched Eney, an assistant that combines application, file and system context to prepare everyday tasks. On Mac, it can offer meeting notes without a bot joining the call, draft a recap, find documents or suggest a fix when disk space runs low. Eney Wand also lets users select an area of the screen to translate it, extract text or prepare an action.

MacPaw describes connections to Apple Mail, Calendar and Reminders, plus Gmail, Drive, Slack, Notion, Jira and Linear. Its Mnemos layer manages Eney’s own memory; that layer should not be confused with direct access to files. By default, Eney asks before sending messages, changing events or moving files. Users can adjust how independently it acts.

Both Mac and iPhone availability are announced. The release requires macOS 15 or later on Mac and offers a 14-day trial with 10,000 AI credits. Setapp membership is not required. Eight languages are listed, including French.

Features described for Mac are not all guaranteed on iPhone. Examples and benefits are vendor claims, not an independent test. Proactive does not mean fully offline or cloud-free.

Assistants are competing for workstation context, not just chat attention. What they can observe and change matters as much as answer quality.
