Facebook adds natural-language guidance for recommendations

MetaAgents and applications

Meta is rolling out “Your algorithm,” where users can specify topics they want in Feed and Reels. More detailed feedback can also follow “Interested” or “Not interested” from a post’s menu.

Feature release / rollout

Meta is rolling out “Your algorithm,” where users can specify topics they want in Feed and Reels. More detailed feedback can also follow “Interested” or “Not interested” from a post’s menu.

Meta says large language models interpret freely expressed interests, context and intent, allowing ranking to adapt within the same session. The feature is described as rolling out.

The release does not establish universal regional availability. It introduces neither a new frontier model nor independent evidence of complete user control over recommendations. Explicit instructions supplement other ranking signals rather than necessarily replacing them.

Personalization becomes partly declarative instead of relying only on inferred clicks and viewing time.
