Feature release / rollout

Meta, Pinacoteca di Brera and EssilorLuxottica have launched “Sensing Art,” developed with blind and low-vision users and specialist organizations. The glasses integrate with the existing Grande Brera app and DescriVedendo tour.

Eight artworks are included. Recognition triggers the corresponding audio description, with orientation tracks between works. Meta AI and Be My Eyes are optional additions. The museum tour is offered by reservation.

This is not a worldwide accessibility-feature rollout, and tour descriptions are not presented as freely generated by a model. AI involvement proves neither full museum accessibility nor blanket WCAG conformity.

The pilot combines a device with existing accessible content rather than automatically replacing cultural expertise.
