TypeSafe has released Jev 1.14.0 under jev-preview, describing broad improvements and expecting its largest gains in multilingual support. It also enables image input, including on Jev 1.13, and longer context behind “Danger Zone” headers.
Images can appear in the JSON interface’s state, instructions or criteria. A new box type, exclusive to 1.14, returns one bounding box. Documented headers are TypeSafe-Danger-Zone-Images: true and TypeSafe-Danger-Zone-Long-Context: true. The jev-latest alias is scheduled to migrate a week after the announcement, not immediately on October 14.
This is an API preview with experimental features. TypeSafe explicitly does not vouch for their production reliability. Images and longer contexts reduce reliability. Its internal benchmark rankings are acknowledged as potentially biased and subject to change.
Decision models are expanding structured outputs beyond yes/no answers. A guaranteed output type does not guarantee a correct decision.
