What changes
The choice of the assistant separates itself from the choice of the office suite: teams can keep their Google documents without just adopting Google's AI.
Practical implication
Try a non-sensitive shared document revision in Ask before edits mode and compare the quality to the tools already used.

All paid plans; no exclusions from Belgium/EEA indicated in the announcement, actual availability depending on deployment and Google/admin rules.
Limits and uncertainty
Official date: October 6th, not the 7th that corresponds to the newsletter relay. Allowing a connector does not exempt you from reviewing file sharing or controlling proposed changes.
